Full-Time Research Coordinator – University of Louisville Child Anxiety and Mood Lab and Eating Anxiety Treatment Lab

The Child Anxiety and Mood (CAM) Lab and the Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) Lab in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville, directed by Drs. Sara Bufferd and Cheri Levinson, are seeking a full-time, in-person Research Coordinator for an NIMH-funded longitudinal study examining youth anxiety, interoception, and risk for eating disorders (R01MH129357). 

This position involves working closely with children and families on a multi-method study that includes clinical interviews, psychophysiological assessments, behavioral tasks, ecological momentary assessment (EMA), and questionnaires. The coordinator will play a key role in participant management, data collection (in-lab and online), and overall lab operations, including IRB submissions and database management (e.g., REDCap, SPSS). Evening and weekend hours will be needed to accommodate families’ schedules. The study coordinator will work very closely with Drs. Bufferd and Levinson and their teams on a day-to-day basis.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating participant scheduling, retention, and compensation

  • Conducting assessments with youth and families (clinical, behavioral, physiological)

  • Managing study data and maintaining databases

  • Assisting with IRB protocols, lab organization, and study logistics

  • Supervising undergraduate research assistants and supporting a large research team

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Neuroscience, or a related field and two years of relevant experience (e.g., as a research assistant). Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, particularly for working with children and families.

This position is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing graduate training in clinical psychology or a related field. A minimum 1-year commitment is required (with potential for extension). The preferred start date for the position would be in May or June 2026.
