Akira Isaac, B.S.
Akira Isaac is a second-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Louisville. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she graduated from Howard University with a B.S. in Biology. Akira is currently examining the associations between preschool-aged children’s stress measured via hair cortisol concentration, and various parental factors.

Alyssa Rodriguez, A.L.B.
Alyssa Rodriguez (A.L.B, Harvard University) is a second-year clinical psychology graduate student in the CAM Lab. Alyssa is interested in environmental influences of childhood psychopathology development. She is particularly interested in exploring the potential influence parents’ behavior, culture, and psychopathology may have on childhood sleep, and in turn – childhood risk for psychopathology. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys exploring nature, sharing music, and excessive peace sign use.

Elizabeth Ochoa Sierra, M.A.
Liz received her BA in psychology from the University of California Merced in 2018 and an MA in Psychological Science from California State University San Marcos in 2021. She wants to pursue a PhD in counseling psychology in the near future.

Madeline Bailey, B.A.
Madeline has completed her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the University of Louisville, and graduated with High Honors. She is currently in the process of applying to graduate school. She is interested in the areas of anxiety and trauma, and hopes to stress the importance of a sociological lens when doing her own research in the future. In her free time, Madeline enjoys watching movies, trying new restaurants, and baking.

Marissa Robertson, B.A.
Marissa (she/her) graduated from the University of Louisville with a BA in Psychology in May of 2021. She plans to take a gap year in order to gain further experience in the field and broaden her interests. Marissa will begin applying to grad school next year, where she hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.

Jessica Orea
Jessica is a 4th-year psychology major at CSU San Marcos, expecting to graduate in Spring 2023. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a PhD in Social Psychology and conduct research with underrepresented populations.

Samantha Hines
Samantha is a senior at UofL working towards a bachelors in Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. At UofL, she is a member of SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Alliance) and MAP (Mutual Aid & Poverty). After graduation, she plans on attending the University of Cincinnati medical school. In her free time she enjoys working on her crafts and watching TV.

Chris Gingrich, B.A.
Chris graduated from the University of Louisville in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He is planning to pursue a PsyD in Child Clinical Psychology, with the hope of becoming a licensed clinical psychologist. His research interests include mood and anxiety disorders, as well as the relationship between childhood trauma and memory functioning. He currently works at a psychiatric residential treatment facility working with children diagnosed with behavior disorders. In his free time, Chris enjoys watching sports, playing with his dog and hanging out with friends.

Vaibhavi (she/her) is a junior majoring in Neuroscience. She is passionate about mental health and enjoys learning about it. In her free time, she likes to watch Netflix, dance, and hangout with her friends.

Andrew Alvey, B.A.
Andrew (he/him) received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgetown College in 2020. After graduating, he began working as a Mental Health Technician at UofL Peace Hospital with teenagers who suffer from behavior and mood disorders. He intends to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and would like to help children who have mental health issues due to past trauma. His research interests include how behavior and mood disorders develop in children, the effect of sleep on psychopathology, and the best treatment methods for psychological disorders in children. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, traveling, and hanging out with friends.

Amanda Dowdy, B.A.
Amanda graduated from California State University San Marcos with a B.A. in Psychological Science in May of 2021. Her research interests include child internalizing disorders, specifically the relationship between child and parent mental health. She intends to eventually pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology with the goal of becoming a university professor and researcher. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, reading books, and spending time with family.
