Prospective Graduate Students
I will be reviewing graduate student applications in the current application cycle for admission to our Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology for the 2022-2023 academic year (application deadline: December 1, 2021). If you are interested in my lab, you do not have to email me in advance, but you are welcome to. Please see here for information about our program.
Members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply!
UofL Graduate Program Virtual Information session: Wednesday October 27 3:30-5:30pm.

GRE scores are optional. You may submit scores if you would like to include that information with your application materials; applications without GRE scores will be given equal consideration. If GRE scores are not submitted, applicants should provide evidence of their writing and quantitative skills through other materials such as description of quantitative courses taken and provision of written materials such as an honors thesis or a course paper (this information can be provided even if you do submit GRE scores). If GRE scores are submitted, scores for the general section of the GRE should be directly reported to the university using the University of Louisville institution code of 1838.
Please be sure to read about our Research to ensure that your interests and goals align with the work that we do in the lab. Only applicants with previous research experience in psychology, child development, or related field will be considered. In addition, applicants with a preference for a research-oriented career (at least in part) will likely be a better fit for my lab given that I may not be as strong of a mentor for someone who wants a career in full-time clinical practice.
Applicants with experience with independent projects (e.g., honors or MA thesis, first-authored conference presentation or paper) as well as experience with data collection will be prioritized because these are the types of tasks graduate students must complete in a Ph.D. program. I will also be looking for research and/or related experience with children/families. When I read your personal statements and application responses, I will be looking for clear descriptions of your research experience, interests and goals, and how these align with my lab and our program. I will also be looking for evidence of persistence in your academics and research, and commitment to social justice values and practices.
You may be eligible for an application fee waiver - please call (502) 852-6495 to inquire about your eligibility.
I look forward to reading your application!
Prospective Research Assistants
I do not currently have any Research Assistant (RA) openings in my lab and I am not yet sure when spaces will open up. I will post updates here!
